The National Council for Women (NCW) organized a Parental Awareness Camp entitled "On Steady Ground" (Ala El Bar) for a whole day in Kafr Shubra El-Yemen village in Gharbia Governorate, and implemented it in cooperation with WellSpring Foundation, within “Addressing the Economic Drivers of Irregular Migration” project implemented by NCW in partnership with the European Union (EU). 

It targeted 32 families of the village with their sons and daughters by tackling the irregular migration issue with them in an innovative way, using interactive activities to enhance bonding between them.

The interactive activities included workshops organised to educate families about alternative economic opportunities, in addition to presenting and highlighting success stories from the people of the governorate who did not turn to irregular migration.

The slogan "On Steady Ground" (Ala El Bar) of the Parental Awareness Camp refers to the safe ground which one seeks, and may be represented in the family and the homeland, as each individual must think well before making their decisions that may affect the entire family, especially women who play a crucial role in the family’s prosperity. One also needs guidance to achieve  aspirations and dreams to improve their family's standard of living, as well as being guided by correct information and avoiding the spreading of misinformation and misconceptions about irregular migration and its dangers.

It is worth noting that the “Addressing the Economic Drivers of Irregular Migration” project aims to promote alternatives to irregular migration through promoting enterprise development and work opportunities for women and youth in Beheira, Gharbia, Luxor and Minya Governorates, in addition to implementing awareness-raising activities to highlight the risks of irregular migration based on the previous efforts.
